Manifold Porting
#1
Moved to drivetrain
Has anyone had their manifold ported / polished Etc & are the gains worth the expense, Is it much of a job to remove & replace the manifold (apart from the seized studs part) Im quite competent & don't mind tackling most jobs.
Cheers

Done properly there are measurable gains. My headers came off when the engine was out so it was easier. My headers went to a competant automotive machine shop because it would have taken all week with a grinding wheel and Black and Decker.
To remove the headers in situ is not too hard but a ramp or pit will make the job that much easier.
Do the up pipe at the same time if you can.

Hi James:Is this to open them out to the size of the head ports and clean out the rough cast joints and surfaces. The work on my up pipe alone would take me longer than that and also involved splitting part of the inner sleeve and peening over?
