Unhappy Help Please I'm New.

Hi, i'm new to this site and to Subaru's, I've finally got to the age that I can insure them and now have 1 but I don't know a great deal about it. The rolling road print out that was supplied with the car states 335.2bhp but on the way home I had a clio 182 sat on my bumper flat out (FRENCH SHOULD NOT KEEP UP WITH JAP LOL) Basically I know my car has a td05, front mount intercooler, piggyback ecu(not sure what make and where to find it) and a full cat back system. it only seems to boost hard from 5,700RPM and hesitates like hell before that then when I dip the clutch the rev's drop so low it nearly cuts out before returning to normal idle. Sorry for the long winded message guys but any help as to what could be causing it to run the way it is would be great.

Thanks.

What filter is it running?
Does it have a dump valve?
What year is it?
Who mapped it?
Any handling mods.

A well set up modded Clio driven by someone that knows how is a decent motor and if you don't have the *****/knowledge how to drive a scoob and your car isn't running properly or set up right then your lucky he didn't hand you your ***.

Hang your head in shame you should have dusted him, puta.

ecu is under the passenger foot well, few bolts and it comes away and have a look see what ecu is there and post it up for starters. seems to be boosting very late for a td05, i have td05 on my wagon running 315 bhp and it starts pulling hard from 3000-3,500. if it has those mods but not mapped properly and driven hard it could be in poor order engine wise. any history ,receipts or details of mapping at all with it? hopefully you didnt buy it from a ned with a hoodie who has ripped the ar$e out of it.

doesnt sound like a td05. be careful with it until you have visted a subaru specialist.

Certainly sounds like a poor map in the best of circumstances.

Cheers guys I'll look for the ecu and post the make on here. How do I tell if the turbo is definatly a td05? Ps there aren't any tuning receipts with it so haven't a clue who tuned it but I have had the car looked over by a tvr mechanic that I know and he said the car and engine are solid in his opinion, I'll do some investigating in the light tomoz. It has a cat on it by the way, surely that won't help matters. (DITCHMYSTER) I test drove 600hp bentleys for 2 years so a scooby is a walk in the park, mines just ill at the moment lol.

Ok, so I've done some investigating today and found that I have been lied to about the ecu (it's a standard ecu) no piggyback fitted. It is definatly a td05h turbo but no idea whether it's a 16g or 20g, also the dump valve is a blitz super sound. The hose what comes off the dump valve to the inlet "I think" when pinched makes the engine rev and idle properly but when I let go of it, it idles ****e again. Any advice on what to do next or pics of what the vacuum setup should look like would be great please.
