Newby needs advice please
hello all, my first post and not even got an impreza yet! I have about 2500 to spend on a bog standard wrx as I like them standard. I need the wagon as opposed to saloon and like it as discrete as possible, though I realise that's relative. I have had a classic sport wagon before and loved it but hated the plastic interior and I realise this is part of the car and worth putting up with for the engine and drivetrain. Since the classic Ive run various fast cars and used to drive Volvo T5s every day so Im hoping this car will live up to all the hype and the enthusiastic fanbase it enjoys. So, £2500 can get me a bug eye or if I add a bit extra I can run to a blob eye which I think I prefer the look of and the interior seems a little better maybe? So my questions are...is there any difference in ownership between them ie reliability, performance, quality, driving experience etc? I know the difference in looks is just personal taste. Ive done searches but would rather ask those with the experience of them. Thanks in advance and any advice gratefully received.

Hi and welcome, slight differences, ecu, a couple more bhp and supposed to do a couple more miles per gallon in the blob, but they are essentially the same car.
I have a blob wagon PPP which is a fantastic car, for me it's worth getting one that has the ppp as it up,s the power to a decent level @ 265bhp they are 215 or 220 without it, which does make them a tad slugish in such a heavy car, failing the ppp you can have it ecutec or open source remapped, £550 /£300 respectively.
Add a couple of simple handling mods & geo set up and some decent pads and you will have a great all-rounder.

Cheers for that info. No differences that are a deal clincher then. Is there a specialist for sales in Yorkshire do you know or is it just keeping my eye on the usual places?
