My AC system lost all it's gas and so my mechanic ran a pressure test and dye test. He couldn't find any leaks and so re-gassed it. It worked for a day or so having had it re-gassed but now it's failed again.
He has suggested that the compressor may be dumping it under load? Does anyone have experience of this before I take the plunge and buy a new compressor??

To my knowledge the compressor can't dump it. It is a sealed system so there should be nowhere for it to go. It must have a leak somewhere and I would suggest quite a severe one to lose all the gas that fast. If he put dye in the system he should be able to use the UV torch and goggles to find where it's leaking from.
