2nd Oil pressure switch for gauge
Hi I hope you can help.
I'm looking to fit a electric oil pressure switch and am looking to fit it above cylinder 3 in block , I've had a look around forum and posts seem to mention that location for oil temp not oil pressure .
Any reason why this is not advisable?
Cheers for help
Pete

Hi mate.
Oil PRESSURE is best taken from the point that Subaru fit the OE oil pressure switch. This is on the top/front of the block, o/s under the alternator belt.
That's where the pressure is best monitored. You can fit your electrical sender there if it's small enough, and if you are willing to get rid of the o/p switch, which is pretty useless.
However, if your new sender won't fit there, or you still want both, use one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40
The top one at £23.95 also includes the adaptor for fitting an oil TEMPERATURE gauge into the tappings on top of cylinder No 3. This is the best place to monitor the temperature since cylinder No 3 is known to run hottest.
HTH.
