Default Which inline fuel pressure gause for classic?

As above really, just want to make sure the standard pressure reg is ok.

I'm hoping to have one between the filter and fuel lines on the manifold permanently. I don't want the guage in the car.

I get what you want to do. But your not going to be able to check the pressure while on boost if you install a guage in the way you describe. I have the guage sender installed between filter and manifold. The real importance is to check pressure while on boost. Even if its low at idle, its not so likely to cause damage

Hey up Mel!

I see what you mean but my thinking is that if it is at 3 bar idle pressure without vaccum, then as long as the fuel pump is up to the job then the pressure reg should be able to cope as it has to deal with less pressure.

Hiya. Agreed it should. Ive fitted a guage to mine incar a while ago as was having some issues. Showed as it should at idle. On full boost pressure climbed and then dropped to below 2 bar. regulater changed and problem solved. Then 6 months along similar issue. Pump started failing. so i consider the guage saved my engine twice. Ofcourse its personal choice, just seem a little pointless having a guage you cant see at the important time

Just re read what you wrote. Reg and less pressure??

3 bar no vac
2.5 ish bar idle with vac
4.5 bar on full boost dependand on how much boost your running.
The fuel pressure at full chat is 3bar plus whatever boost your running. So the above is based on 1.5bar boost

Yep, I'm with you on that. I suppose after reading, and realising the pressure increases inline with boost, the reg can't be tested without testing it on boost.

The last scoob I had (mapped the same day as yours Mel) had gauges everywhere and I spent more time looking at them than where I was going, hence my reluctance to have one inside the car.

Yes i remember. Id be inclined ti have a fuel pressure guage rather than boost guage. As above boost is easily worked out from fuel pressure
