In Tank Fuel Pump
#6
@Kwik:
JGM has a short writeup on his page. link
Combined with some videos from youtube (e.g. this) I was able to change mine on my MY95 WRX to a RCM340 one in about 2 hours. I guess half of the time I was thinking of a way to reuse my old filter sock to reduce fuel cuts. Couldn't find a nice and quick solution so I went with the shorter filter which came with the pump
Since I fitted the RCM340 about 1 1/2 years ago it has been faultless besides the well known fuel cuts with replacement pumps. Bob even managed to map the car to 311hp on V-Power at an AFR of around 11.3 at 1.4bar with the standard injectors + Simtek Pro. Not much help if someone is after a big power build but at least it's some data...

pre 2005 cars you dont need to undo all the screws on the pump body as he dose in the video
one or two screws to remove the pipe from top of pump
remove pump and disconnect electrial connectors
take sock off old pump install to new one
rubber bush at bottom of pump unit fits in bottom of pump assembly
put pump on top of the rubber bush and at this stage connect elecrical connector and rubber pipe to upper pump tighten all good
what i did was a little bit of wd on the rubber pipe and slide it all the way up metal pipe so when u seat the pump all u gota do is slide the rubber pipe back down to top of pump,

disconnect the fuel pump then start the car leave it idle untill it dies to remove pressure from the lines and disconnect the negative terminal of the batt and let pressure out of the fuel tank by removing the petrol cap before removal of the pump remember once the pump is out the tank is open to atmosphere and will fill the car with petrol fumes think safety first guys
