Default 300/320bhp my99

Looking at quite a few my99 classics that have a TD05 16g upgrade and they look to make around 290-300bhp

I have a TD05 16g, cosworth panel filter in standard airbox, 3 port solenoid and full 2.5" decat, sti backbox and a v5/6 sti intercooler which I understand is the same as a 1999 uk turbo intercooler?

My question is if I go for a new age sti top mount with the above over a v5 tmic will this get me safely over 300bhp?
My TD04 would probably push 280-290 with a remap with the above mods so if I'm going to go for a turbo swap I thought it best to aim that bit higher with a TD05 say 320bhp
Also not really interested in going front mount for the time being.

Be interested to here if anybody is running any of the above as a phone call to JGM is imminent!!:-)

dont bother thei the new age top mount, its not as easy as just simply bolting it in, if you want to change it then go front mount.

With the right turbo you'll get 300+ even on standard top mount

I thought the new age top mount was a good mod? I see they are a bit a fiddle to fit but don't really want to chop bumpers down etc and lose standard airbox as don't really want to go maf less either?

So you reckon ill get over 300bhp with a TD05 16g and the above mods then without a bigger volume intercooler?

yeah should be fine for 300.

its more the hasse if fitting it, its not as simple and just placing it and bolting it up. so for the limited gains its not worth it when a classic front mount is so cheap.

christ, dont even bother with a 20g, you'll blow your engine and it will be super laggy.

Yeah your right ditching the bigger turbo unless you have supporting mods as you won't get the full benefit without different headers, injectors and then you will have the lag on a 20g etc.

Over 340 ill be looking at new clutch and for the time being if I can get 320bhp out of my classic then it should make a good fun road car with my bilsteins anti lift and roll bar:-)

As for the top mount, it looked identical when offering them both up together on the ground, even looking up inside looks the same, just the silver finish was the only difference I could spot? Well I have the sti one on my car so I may as well get the turbo fitted and crack on with the remap then!:-)
