Impreza conversion
Gents I'm buying a salvage impreza and I won't to put the running gear in to a old ford the question is how do I make it rwd I no the impreza is designed for awd and they drive so well but really want a rwd one hope you can help me

The brief description is to weld the centre diff and remove the front driveshafts, but somebody will be along with more info soon. Have a search on Driftworks for more info

Plenty of options, cheapest is to weld the centre diff, but it's not the most reliable as with hard use it will break. Sleeving it is an option...http://www.streettuned.com.au/Drivet.../prod_780.html
On an old ford, my preferred way would be to use a 2wd cossie box and diff and get an adapted bell hosing fabricated to fit the impreza engine. It all boils down to budget really.

If you mean in place of them to stop oil pouring out of the gearbox, the answer is nothing.
The front drive shafts on the gearbox end are an internal spline, so if you remove them, you are left with an external spline stub protruding from the box, so that's not a problem.
If you mean to give the rear wheels 100% drive, you will need to either weld the centre diff or fit a sleeve.
