Default Drive By Wire

Hi,
Does anybody know if the 2006 Hawkeye WRX has a Drive By Wire system, or conventional throttle cable?

If it has, does anybody know of a digital throttle controller product that works with this model?

Cheers,
Andy

i have one and yes.. its DBW. you can edit the maps relevant to the system with opensource software and a tactrix cable.

whats the interest in the DBW system and digital controller? some sort of hand controls setup? id say you could just pull the sensor off the accelerator pedal and mount it wherever and just get a small paddle or something made up to suit.

What are you trying to achieve?

Hi - thanks for all the replies.

I actually want to try a controller to change the way the pedal responds in terms of distance. For example, changing the pedal travel to correspond to directly and evenly 0 - 100%.

Don't really want to be plugging a laptop in either.

Blitz make a product for nearly every Subaru apart from the 2006 WRX !

that can be done in the opensource software fairly easily. the DBW STi is like that and people have either made or simply copied over the values from the STi over to WRX files to achieve this. its one thing im planning to do myself in the near future.

I want something I can change easily in the car. The ones of sale, like the Blitz Digital Throttle Controller, have easy steps - some for more power earlier on in the pedal travel, some of less (valet mode etc.).
