Removing TB coolant pipes
#5
Yes rip them out and join together. Did mine about 5 years ago. i do have to clean my icv about once a year as i get a carbon build up. Whether thats due to the lack of heat in the throttle body i cant say. But its the only neg affect ive had

Ideal, thanks mate, thats good as i have a split in the pipe to the ICV so rther than buy a new length of silicone ill just remove the whole set up! Will buys ome 8mm ID stainless plugs off ebay now

So you havent joined the 2 pipes together, you have removed the pipe either side of the throttle body and inserted the above into each pipe to block it, doesnt the water have to flow or is this o.k, i would of thought putting an 8mm thru tube to allow the water to flow would be better ?!?!?!?! or not ?? and i guess the brass tubes on the throttle body just remain as they are, with no bungs in them etc ?

Why would you need to join them together? The only reason that the pipe is there is to heat the ICV and the Throttle body, they dont go anywhere else so there is no need for there to be flow through them as far as i can tell.
It looks like the pipes they come off go to the heater matrix so I dont think it is going to affect anything else!

i havent looked fully but i would of thought the water flows thru the throttle body so there is flow there, so a joiner would keep the flow constant as if it were going thru the throttle body, keeping it all as it would be, just bypassing the throttle body.

There probably isnt a problem with removing all together. In my case at the time i didnt know what affects if any there would be. I joined the pipes incase there were neg effects and needed to hook it back up again.
Im taking my manifold off during the winter so will probably do away with them totally
