My RCM exhaust system.

My RCM exhaust system.
Hi guys.
I have a full RCM exhaust system including tubular slip jointed headers.
It's a beautiful system but not all that throaty sounding. It was on the car when I bought it. It has one of their sports cat downpipes fitted also.
Now my question is. Are these systems relatively quiet even with a full decat down pipe, or do they liven up a bit when one is installed?
My last Subaru was ridiculously loud and I don't want it like that again, however I would like a bit more noise than I have now. My only dilemma is I don't want to pay RCM prices for a decat pipe, but don't want to ruin the fact of having a full RCM system with a cheapo crap pipe either.
I'm hoping its just that the back boxes are quite well muffled and adding the down pipe will get me that middle of the road level of noise I'm after.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have a full RCM exhaust with their sports CAT downpipe. I don't really have much to compare it to, but i wouldn't say its excessively loud. Yes you can hear it inside the car, and yes it probably does annoy the neighbours first thing in the morning, but I think some of the industrial bean cans you see on the back of some scoobys will be a LOT louder.

I have the full rcm 3 inch from turbo back with their 4.5" slash cut back box and it actually got too much for me so I now have their "quiet " centre section instead of the previous straight through centre section. Its pretty loud now, but is a reasonable balance between a deep throaty sound and still being livable with on the motorway. Even with the straight through it still wasn't as stupidly / painfully loud like the Team Ice or Nur systems.
The decatted down pipe makes the biggest difference to the noise levels of all the sections, but you should probably get it remapped/tweaked too as it makes a fair difference to the breathing.

Thanks for the replies. My last system on my wagon was a straight through after burner system with no baffle. It's was bloody ridiculous on the motorway and something I dint want to replicate.
My car is currently at 353 bhp on a ported vf35 so I doubt the decat will add any power due to any restriction as I think the turbo is pretty much as far as it's going to go.
I think I will get a reasonably priced down pipe and stick it on and go for a drive. If it gives me the noise I am after then I will get it mapped. If not I will just put my sports cat back on and leave it be as I don't want to go screwing things up
