Default will V3 heads fit straight onto forged 2.5 short engine?

As above im doing a forged buils over winter. Buying a forged 2.5 short motor off brian at cams this weekend.. have a V3 long engine coming next week which im going to take the heads off ( been told v3 are the best because of the aggresive cams?).. going to get the heads polished and ported amd 14mm head stud conversion. Juat wondering whats the best head gasket to use and will the heads directly fit or do they have to machined in anyway?

Thanks ryan

Hi Ryan,

Sounds like a good plan, to be honest with you im quite new to the impreza scene so I couldnt tell you if they would fit straight on, or the strongest head gasket too use. I would suggest asking one of the regular breakers on here as they should know. In the mean time if you do need anything keep an eye out on our facebook page as we have just started and we are very quickly gathering a large stock of classic parts. We have a 93 WRX and a 99 turbo 2000 at the moment. Also hoping to collect an RA this weekend.

Sorry i couldn't help you mate. Are you doing a build thread as would be interested to see the build as you go.

Regards
Ross

They will fit but you need to machine the head chambers to the correct CC for your specific compression ratio rather than the crude method of jacking up on thicker gaskets which I wouldn't recommend
