Default Exhaust manifold

Got my v8 sti back from the garage today, while there I asked if they could do a full check of the car,

One of their findings was that the heat shield had come away from its fixings for the exhaust manifold, and that it might rattle,

They suggested that I should buy an unequal length manifold (3 bolt type)

I soon need to book my car in for a remap after fitting performance parts, so a couple of questions really,

Do I really need to buy a new manifold if it's just the heat shield,
Will the car benefit from a new manifold and if so where are my best options for buying one, need to keep costs down now as cost are starting to spiral!!
Is it a big job for a garage, so will labour costs be high,

Thanks in advance for any feedback

Remove the heat shields job done. No need to replace the manifold unless it's cracked and blowing. If your really bothered about the heat factor spend £30 on heat wrap and wrap them but honestly no great gain differences.

Will have to double check with the mechanic what he said the condition of the manifold is but sure he said it was fine, but performance wise I won't benefit from it that much?
Does the engine have to be lifted for fitment ?

You will need 3bolt up pipe to go with manifold just sold one for£50. A mechanic would probably charge £70 to do the up pipe and manifold swap. I felt a good difference when I put my RCM headers and RCM up pipe on my blob sti. Well worth it IMO

Unless your running 400bhp or more headers are not required. I think their trying to see you something got the sake of it.

im in two minds now, some people say just try and fix heat shield, some say new headers would be a good addition, i dont think the manifold is blowing etc, im running standard turbo, large tmic, uprated fuel pump, panel filter etc so not sure,
if i could get something as cheap as johnny2007 think it might be worth a go, will need to do it before a map though if i decide to go for it!!!!
