Won't idle properly after td05+air filter fitted.
My 53 wrx will idles like a dog now after fitting a td05 and open air filter.
Due to the intake being top entry for the td05 I am no longer using the pipe that runs under the inlet manifold, therefore I have piped the hoses that go into that into the pipe between filter and turbo... which is the same right?
I have left the cam cover breather pipe off currently though because I ran out of ports on the new pipe.
All FMIC pipes are tight, turbo is fitted properly, air filter is tight and no leaks. Not sure why on idle its so bad.
When cold the idle is up and down between 2k and 1k
When warm it just stalls
Obviously I know I need a remap but it should idle/drive ok for me to plod down to get it mapped.

As far as I no the only imprezas with top entry are the v early classic versions all Newage models are front entry I think, there are plenty of turbo upgrade options depending on the set up u want to run that are front entry that would be much more suitable for sure...

Yea I know, one of my old ones was a early classic and this was just a spare. I agree there are plenty of other much better upgrades but this is something I already had.
As far as I know there is no negative reason to changing to this is there?

This is what most people do when running this turbo on a later car. If the rocker breather is open it will be pulling in unmetered air which will screw up the AFR & cause hunting as described. I'd sort this first then change the compressor cover & get it mapped before running any boost or it will end in tears.
