Hi I'm new to this, just bought an 03 scooby and the EML is on the garage I bought the car from say that is on and can not be taken off because of the exhaust mods is this right or did they BS me?

Most likely cause is a decat exhaust, but it should really have been remapped so it all runs ok. If remapped it would normally be 'mapped out' and not show EML.

I put a spacer on my rear lambda and no more light since and it's been remapped

You first need to read the error code on the ECU via the OBD II port under the steering wheel. Missing cat code is P0420. Then you can decide what to do.

Could be a whole range of problems throwing your CEL (EML)

Thanks will get it put on a machine to check codes, but it will have yo wait now cos I'm away at work for three weeks I will let you know what the codes are... Sorry sounds dumb but how and who do I get to remap???
