Intercooler y pipe

Hi , if I was to replace my standard y pipe , on a v4 wrx with a samco one , would it need remapping , have read it improves air flow .

ive replaced mine with an autobahn one on my v4 turbo 2000 and not had it mapped, going to be replacing the intercooler with a uk300 one today hopefully aswell
