Thumbs up Engine and parts advice

Hello,

Not posted on here for years and years, I had a M- reg WRX years ago and had to sell it to free up some cash and since the day I sold it I always said I wanted another!
I have been after a little project for a while and I thought what better car to get than a Scooby

I have just purchased a 1993 black WRX with the left hand side head gasket blown and slightly rusty wheel arches so perfect project for me.

The question is how far do I go with the engine do I take the heads of get them skimmed and pressure tested and rebuild or do I go for a full strip down with new bearings and piston rings etc etc
I have been offered an engine out of a 1997 Subaru turbo prodrive which I have been told will fit straight in, so thinking to put that in for now and do up the original engine?

So I need to know suppliers for engine parts and is it possible to get replacement rear wings? and can the 1997 prodrive engine fit straight in?

If I mind right it looked straight forward enough to take the engine out.

Look forward to any advice I receive
Cheers
Mark

The V3 engine won't work with your ECU, would have to swap looms! It is doable but a fair amount of work!

Why? If he keeps the original manifold/coil packs?.
