Default VF22 Classic owners question

Looking to upgrade my 00 Turbo 2000 over the next few months with the right supporting mods and a remap around April.

Just wanting to hear from people who actually have a VF22 on a classic, theres a lot of talk they are super laggy etc and dont like more than 1.2 bar either, so is this all hearsay and what sort of revs are they coming onto decent boost?

i dont mind a bit of lag if it comes on boost hard after that, just have to be in the right gear

It's an old turbo, there are better options available and probably cheaper ones too. VF28 VF35 etc will be the best option for your car.

i had a vf35 on a classic a few years back, was running 1.25 max but it never felt that much of a kick off it? the VF28 on my type r was a great turbo even at standard boost, i think the gearing may have had a part to play though

A vf22 can handle more than 1.2 bar, and yes it spools slower than other turbo's of the vf range.

loved it , had it mapped at 1.3 bar on the sti and it was great.

didnt find it too laggy on ANY of them.
