Replaced my sticky 4 pots (in process of being rebuilt) with the above aftermarket calipers but I am getting a 'clunk' noise every time I brake or accelerate at slow speed.
Anyone else had a similar issue?
I cleaned up and re-used the original Subaru shims with lots of copper grease. I believe the pads that were supplied were Lucas pads. Could the issue be the pads themselves?
I think once I have rebuilt the Subaru calipers, I will be putting these back on for authenticity, but in the mean time, the noise is getting on my ****!![Razz](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/razz.gif)
Any help or advice appreciated.

Crikey I've just ordered the WRX PRO calipers, came 20 mins ago, they were sent with TRW pads and Bremtech drilled/grooved disks.
I've not read many reviews so I'd be interested too to know feed back on them.

I have had WRX Pro front 4 pots on my car for 9 months no problems what so ever, superb calipers. I have Mintex pads fitted and never had any clunking and I don't use shims just a smudge of copper grease on the back of the pad. All i can say is check the fixing bolts are tight, My old subaru 4 pots used to clunk when I reversed and braked but that was worn pins which allowed the pads to move slightly. I fitted a new stainless pin kit when I fitted the WRX Pro calipers.

Iv got wrx pro calipers in my bug for 2 years now, first time when i change pads i did bought some set of very good quality like oem ones no problem with them whatsoever, second change of pads i did about 6 mth ago i bought some average quality pads for 29.99£ put them on,shims with lot of grease and my nightmare begins.Every time when i press a brake now at low speed i heard loud clunk coming from left caliper or right one,or both same time depend, more happen when brakes are hot.I also getting clunk when i stop on the red light and start moving slowly after light change.Drive my nuts but is the quality how the pads been made, bassicly they are not as tight fit as the oem ones whats make them playing about in the caliper up and down every time when u press the brake.Nothing to worry about u just have to live with it.I even bought new set of springs and pins to try avoid clunk but problem still exist.

Cheers guys. New pins and retainer fitted as these were supplied with the calipers.
I may try some OEM brembo ones or go back to the supplier and have a bit of moan, see if I can get some money back.
So if I put my old calipers back on, I am still likely to get the noise if I stay with the same pad?

You need to make sure the spring clip is the right way round, i.e. helps push the pads up, so they stay up and don't move in the caliper each time the brake is pressed. This way you should only get a clunk when using the brakes in reverse (which hopefully is far less frequently).

As mentioned it will be your pads , we have been selling these calipers for a while now and have had no problems with them at all , size wise they are identical to an original Subaru caliper , so it won't be the caliper making your pad move around , it will be the pads

My mate got a turbo with these on recently, they were brand newly fitted just before he bought it. I drove the car but noticed there is no initial bite to the brakes. I mentioned it to my mate and I'd assumed the fitter must have left air in the system after fitting because if you give the brakes a couple of quick pumps you can get them to bite nicely upon pressing again. So I set about bleeding them and got no air out even after a long time trying.
Not sure whether you'd notice it that easily but when I jump between my car (uk turbo with oe 4 pots) and his it's very noticeable.
Be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed this? If not, I think another bleeding attempt is in order.

That will be down to pads , nothing to do with the calipers , they would only need bleeding again if it had a long pedal , it's the pads that give the bite

Ian, I don't surpose you're interested in my old calipers are you? All pistons have now been free'd up. Only 2 on the driver's side were sticky.
Pm me if you are.
If not, I'll rebuild them and put them up for sale on here in a couple of weeks.

Maybe I didn't word it right. If you quickly stab the pedal twice and then press it, there's a decent initial grab of the brakes. It just acts like there's air in the system or the pistons aren't remaining out. It's not the pads as the initial bite will be there if you lightly tap the brake a couple of times. It does feel like there's more travel to the pedal than my car but I've tried for ages to bleed them without signs of air. Just wondered if this was in any way normal with these calipers.

Swapped the spring clips around today so that the big lobes are at the top. Hey presto, the knock is gone! ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Feel like a right idiot for fitting them upside down in the first place!![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I still get a slight knock from the front right caliper when I stop after reversing, but I can live with that.
Cheers guys.
