ecutek or simtek on a turbo 2000
Hey folks,
Im hoping to get around 330-350 bhp on a MY00 Turbo 2000 and wondering if an ecutek remap is capable of getting that power or would i need a simtek and go mafless?
Parts bought/to buy are
TD05 16g(bought)
3" H&S decatted DP(fitted)
2.5" Prodrive system decatted(fitted)
Hybrid FMIC (bought)
ecutek ecu with license(bought)
ported oem headers/up pipe
Walbro 255
550cc phase 2 injectors
Uprated plugs
Panel filter or ind kit
All to be mapped by JGM on 97 ron with NF octane booster
I would also rather keep the standard top mount if i could and just a panel filter unless i have to go fro a fmic at this power level. So basically will the ecutek be ok for this power level or should i sell it on and try source a simtek 2nd hand

Alcatek or syvecs depending on budget. Syvecs would be my choice of the two, but it is more money.
Pushing to that sort of power will more than likely kill the maf every 100 miles, mine (although my99) went through 3 of them during mapping before autronics got added (few years back now).

id rather stay with the ecutek as i already have it bought and to sell it and buy a simtek + mapping it will be at least another £6-700 id say
Its the chance of the MAF's messing about and having to constantly change them at that sort of power level thats concerning me. Can the standard MAF on a 99-00 only work efficiently up to a certain power level?

If you're getting Simon to map the car, have him confirmbut im sure the 99-00 MAF is ok for up to 400.
No need for induction kit unless you like the noise.
You could look into running a Nissan Z32 MAF if it worries you that much. I considered it but just went simtek instead lol.

I've my99 STI mapped on ecutek this last 2 years no problems to date! Don't believe all you read or won't do anything
Don't get hung up on figures... Your car will be totally transformed afterwards no matter what.
