Default split the block

Im in tye process of stripping down a scrap ej20 engine just want to no the best way
to spit the block?do i take gudgoen pins out then pistons then split ??

Remove gudeon pins, remove sump, undo 1000 bolts, beat it to death

Use a piece of 6mm/ 1/4" silver steel or any steel about 12" long, chap them out from the opposite side. No fancy tool required
