Default metal vs plastic header tank

2004 sti. Im fed up of my rusty, pitted header tank and im thinking of replacing it with a 2005》plastic one. Are these more brittle or a weaker design? Anyone done this?

Just don't lean on it if you fit one, the pipes snap EASY!

I got a later one and I thought it was going to be plastic, but it a metallic sound when you knock it

Other option is to get the metal one refurbed - powder coat or paint it and fit some nice stainless bolts

Not sure if it I actually 100% plastic because it does make a metallic sound when you knock it as JonMc said.

What I don't like about the later ones is that you're screwing a metal cap onto what looks like a plastic thread.
