Default Water jacket temp sensor

I take it it is possible to perform a continuity test on said sensor. Need to double check whether sensor is faulty or not.

There are two, though. The one with a single wire feeds the gauge, the one with two wires feeds the ecu.

Yep, Version 5 onwards 3 pin sensor is for ecu coolant temp sensor and temp gauge.

Top 2 pins on sensor connector are +5v from ecu and return to ecu.
Lower pin is for temp gauge.

Resistance check on the top 2 pins of sensor should give,
2K~3Kohms @ 20degC
350~400 ohms @ 80 degC
200~300 ohms @ 90degC.

That's worth knowing.

Do you happen to know the figures for the gauge pin and earth.
