revs increase on gear change
Just recently bought a 2001 2.0 gx non turbo to replace my old auto model.
I'm finding that on changing gear (up or down) the revs surge up about 250 rpm or so then settle down.
It makes smooth gear changes hard work and I'm hating driving it.
The auto was by comparison a much nicer drive! and I thought a manual would be a huge improvement. wrong!
I seem to remember reading somewhere it wasn't a fault and was a characteristic of the breed, and a re map was the answer.
Im not sure if this is true..and if you can actually get a re map for a non turbo impreza?
I'm several hundred quid into a minor re furb (new clutch, Hayward and scott exhaust system, full waxoil etc) so am a bit cheesed off with my stupid decision to sell my old auto.
any ideas anyone??
Don't know if its connected but the power steering seems over sensitive to me..I thought they were speed sensitive. could this be connected to the rising revs thing?
