Default APS Cold Air Induction Kit

Anybody up for a Group Buy on this?

Its meant to be the Best Induction Kit going.

This is the Info from The APS site:

The APS smooth bore cast aluminium cold air intake system and K&N air filter delivers a huge volume of cool air to the turbo charger for maximum engine performance.
Originally developed to enhance the Version 5 STI, this APS cold air intake system is certainly the most cost effective way to achieve greater air flow, great looks and fantastic sound. Unlike ram pods which source hot air from under the bonnet, the APS system breathes cool air from the inner guard for the optimum engine performance and durability. More importantly the air through the APS high flow air intake system is consistent in temperature. This means that the engine management unit's temperature compensation system operates correctly - unlike devices that source air from the highly turbulent areas under bonnet.

And, it's easy to install with no cutting or drilling required.

It is also MAF friendly.

Pics and more info available on the APS website:
http://www.aps-wrx.com/wrx/airfilter.htm

Normal Price is £159+VAT, but if there are enough people interested, this can be brought down quite abit.

This group buy is open to owners of all types and ages of Impreza.

Add your names on list below with what type and year of Impreza you have.

According to the APS website, the induction kit for the MY97 Scoob will fit both the WRX and STi. Its only the later Classics that require different kits for the WRX/Turbo and STi.

I will confirm all this when I phone them on Monday mate.

Hi, i'm interested.

I presume this is the "aps high flow air intake" as described in the snet shop and not the "aps cold air feed"? Whats the difference between them, apart from price?

Cheers,
Doug.

For info, this is my APS CAK fitted (MY99)

and blanking plug from your local subaru dealer
subaru part # 46059FA000
£7.23 inc vat

and a samco air hose from Roger clarks (part number SHO38).
all in inc. VAT and delivery (registered 1st class) was £68.02
please note that there isn't the breather connection on the underneath of the pipe. i'm running without the carbon canister so it was another pipe i could get rid of.

Default INCUCTION KIT GROUP BUT UPDATE!

Right, after much phoning about and speaking to loads of Specialists and Companies, there are no APS kits available in the country. An there will not be any available for some time.

After speaking to Olly Clark at Roger Clark Motorsport, he suggested the RCM01/RCM04 Kit.

Unlike the APS Kit, this kit does NOT require a re-map after fitting and is totally MAF friendly. Although it does not fit into the inner wing like the APS kit where the air is cooler, it has a much larger Cone Filter and therefore has a much better and bigger air flow. This is the kit of choice for all their project & Rally cars.

http://www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk

The kit is cheaper as well, coming in at £144+VAT, but of course they are willing to give us a good Group Buy price.

The Graham Goode Racing Induction kit, is the same set up as the RCM kit and retails for £144.69+VAT. They are not too keen on Group Buys, but might consider it.

I will also be consulting with Andy F. for advice.
I need to know definate numbers by tomorrow if possible.
Thanks,
Ewan.

Ok mate. I will add you. Yeah the kit fits staright on and take about 10 mins to fit. No cutting, drilling, preping, etc. required. I think the kit for your car retails at around £175, but we would be able to get the price down with the Group Buy. Look on the RCM website at the kit for your car, as you can get a really good one with the coloured hoses!

sorry m8 I am only interested in the aps kit, and personally i dont mind waiting, I think it is a good thing that the car needs a remap after fitting as it shows that it does make a significent difference to air flow and hence fueling will need to be upped to match.
