Default Exedy Clutch Group Buy for 6-speeders

I had a chat with Dave at API and he's happy for me to pull together 4 others that need clutches for their new shape STI's. My clutch hasn't gone yet, but there's not much left on it and there are probably others in the same situation. I don't mind buying the clutch a few weeks early if it'll save me 70 notes.

Standard Price for STI Excedy Organic Clucth kit = £380 + VAT
GB Price = 320 + VAT.

Add your names if your interested.

Cheers

Anders

Here's where I do my unofficial saleman bit for API.

The Exedy organic clutch is very good indeed as is the service from API. It's a bit of a giveaway at this price. Snap it up people!!

PS David charges £200 for fitting if I recall correctly.

'Dawg this GB is specifically for the 240mm 6 speed type clutch. there is no GB running at the mo. for the 230mm that you need.

I can sell you what you want [ and fit it ] but at regular price. £320.00 + Flywheel maybe + fitting £200.00 + the VATmans bit. We can fit while you wait.

We are 4 miles from Junc 12 of the M40 or 13 miles south of Coventry. There is now an address and map on our website www.apiengines,com

Call me if I can help.

David APi

PS spot on as usual NS04

David has said in the past that he'll honour warranty caims up to about 400bhp/ft lbs. You might want to confirm with him that this is still the case if you're planning BIG power.

That should be "sufficient" as they say!

Just to say my car is with David ATM getting the 230mm clutch and flywheel fitted, the assurance that it can take 400 of each swung it for me

It will be interesting to see the state of the Ap racing organic its replacing that slipped at approx 350 lbft whilst mapping a fortnight ago.

I asked Dave about this and he said new shape STI's have 8KG flywheels as standard, so not worth spending £££ to save a kilo or two.

BTW I'll mention this GB on the wr1 web site to see if there's any interest.

Aston, the original weighs about 8 KG's which is not far enough from the ideal weight of 7Kg's that works so well on the GC8 cars. We have tried lightening the original 6 speed ones and there is a lot of work for very little gain. We can obviously supply you a billet steel one but the same principle applies, too much cost for a small gain and it isn't necessary for the clutch to operate at its best.

Stick with just the clutch is my suggestion.

I think you should start a thread in the groupbuy section, perhaps then you'd get more response?
