How do i stop the rear view mirror going bananas???
#1
Put some sounds in the car last night and now my mirror has a mind of its own. The bass vibrates the car soo much that i now have a mirror thats of no use while the music is on (loud). Is there anyway i can stop this?
Thx

I had the same problem and put it into the second mode.. i.e. when someones headlights dazzle you you can flick the position
I flicked the position, moved the mirror so I could see again in the same position and it no longer moved with the bass - must be a firmer setting...

From: Nottingham - HEY scumbag, leave my scoob alone!!!
I have a my00 ,it has a litle screw on the rear of the mirror (turn mirror around and all is revealed) when i first installed my ICE the mirror was constantly dropping downwards with the vibes, tighten the screw up to the point where you can only just turn the mirror back to the correct position and you have cracked it!!!!!
Just got to stop my sub shakin' the **** out of the rear end!!!!

Not possible - no matter how much dynamat you use!!
You do get less rattles if you either point the subs towards the passengers or upwards through the speaker holes - i.e. the worst rattles are if the subs are pointed towards the rear of the car I find - the lip of the boot is the thing that tends to make a fair bit of noise!

Thanks for all the replies. Sorry i've been to busy to reply, works been hectic. I just turn the mirror to face the roof at the moment as i cant stop it from shaking. I will definately try the screw thing and also the dipping switch thingy too.
All good advice
As for the rear end, mine is terrible. No other words for it really. Sounds like someone is banging away on a snare drum on the boot lol. I wonder what could be done to sort that one out. Dynamat is the only thing i could think of, but someone says its not good enough to solve it. I already did the "move sub box to upright position" and the sound inside the car wasn't as good.
If i turn it right around to face the rear seats will that make much difference to the rattles? Will it make the bass any different.
Lets just face it. Subaru's aren't made to house bass! Hehe
I spent just over £850 on 1 amp and 2 Vibe 12's in a nicely made box. I must be mad. My speakers inside the car are upgraded, 6x9's @ 250w in rear and forget the size of the front ones but know they are 150w. These run off a Kenwood PS series Headunit and are loud enough. My amp is only turned up to 3/4 gain as it shakes the car way too much. What i dont want is to shake the life out of the interior. So that when the music is off you get squeaks and rattles everywhere! I think i need to be careful on this one!
