Question

I might as well sell my old sub box, if anyone's interested...

Precut holes for 10" subs. 2 Sealed enclosures and space in the middle for amps - the cutout is for a rockford Punch 200ix, but could be adapted for anything. Also space at the back for fuses, other gubbins...

Can't remember volumes, I think it's around 1 cu ft. for each chamber. I'll check when I get home. Fits perfectly between the suspension struts at the rear of MY00 saloons etc and gives loads of usable boot space.

Constructed of 12mm MDF with copious amounts of fibreglass. Built by me. Took bloody ages to make.

Sorry, I'm not couriering this . Either pick it up from Leeds, or I'll be up and down the M1 from leeds to Milton Keynes around once a week.

Dunno what it's worth, so offers.

Cheers,
Nick.

Sorry if this ain't obvious, but it's the box only. No subs, no amps, no carpet, no scooby doos, no furry dice... Oh, and no car

How hard would it be to make this removable so when I need space to put the back seats down and stick things through I can do.
If its quite easy then I'll have them. What sort of price are you looking at as I'm in the process of spending quite a lot on other ICE at the moment so cheaper the better obviously!

I held it in with a mere 2 screws, so it's easy to make removable from that side of things.

With an amp or two and 2 JL 10W6s it is quite heavy, but can be removable. You'd need to sort out power. I've used 2 XLR connectors before now to make an amp removable, one for ground and one for +12.

I really don't know how much it's worth, as it's a DIY job. It'd cost you around 50 quid in materials to build, I guess...

Cheers,

nick.

You selling the subs as well or not?
I'm definitely interested in the box though. Could you measure it up for me so I can check on boot space. And give me a price and I'll check my bank!!!
Cheers

Gossy, I was thinking it might be worth 50 quid given that's what it would cost to build in raw materials, but am open to offers. 20 quid is a little low, but ultimately if that's what it's worth then...

I'll decline that for the moment. Find a bit more and it's yours.

Heheh...Nick said "ain't"...I thought only us american rednecks said that...D)

What's the next install going to be Nick? Please don't say a Fiesta...

And folks,a custom fit box like this is worth alot of money...in general, boxes are cheap to build. But when you spend the time to fit it to YOUR car...many hours of labor that can cost a mint when hired out...

Question

Could the box be modified to fit 2 x 12" RF subs, do you think there is enough space for these?

There's not enough space for 12s, no. I wouldn't recommend it for those.

Having seen the box, I'm fairly sure it could fit two 12" rf's..

It might fit it but the box isnt big enough for the rf's to work to their full potential. Needs more capacity for that.
So Chiark, would you accept £35 or not?
Cheers

Not at the moment, no.
12s would physically fit, but there's not enough volume for most 12" subs IMHO...

Erm, he ain't joking. Water would work. It's sealed with fibreglass, hence water wouldn't damage it, plus is a lot more accurate than polystyrine beads
