Hey (New here - hello btw - bought my first Scooby yesterday!)

I've a 1991 Legacy saloon, and it is totally stock so far. The ICE is pitiful, so I'm slinging my car computer in there. Stealthy is the key here, so can anyone tell me what size speakers are stock in a 1991 Legacy 2.2 GX? I'm searching online and finding nothing. Many thanks,

Majik

Welcome to the board

If it's anything like the Impreza, it'll be 5" speakers up front. Good news is that it should be trivial to get the door cards off and check what would fit.

What car computer are you running? I'm just re-working mine from the old setup

Thanks man - I'm running an Epia board using the Media Engine system. Got a 12" TFT from the van, but no idea where to put it now. Running a 20x4 LCD too for when I'm just running MP3s. It's a good little system, and just about silent due ot the cubid power supply. Think I'll whip the stereo out and put in a 7 inch din monitor and sell the tft for ease...

I'm updating to an epia - what psu are you using for it? Are you running the cubid PSU direct off the car battery? Any problems with voltage spiking or overvoltage hitting the mobo?

Many questions, sorry

I too am using an LCD panel (Alpine jobbie) and a vfd character display for readability of characters. Sometime I will update DIYMP3...

I'm using the cubid supply from www.mini-itx.com with an adaptor to go from lighter socket directly into psu. Not the greatest setup, but good enough for me - have to watch those spikes though!

If you need a hand with any setup, let me know. I use a numeric keypad to control the whole thing, and have MP3, radio, DivX moveis, DVD and any applications I want on it. I've even got a bluetooth USB adaptor so I can check my emauil through the 6310i Was overkill for the van, but there ya go....

Excellent - thanks for that.

Incidentally, the originals are possibly 5" but you will find that you can get 6 or 6.5s in with a little work if its anything like an impreza.
