This may be one for Chiark as I bought the unit after reading his mini-review.

First things first, the advice was sound, very impressed with the unit - even on OEM speakers (soon to go) the sound has improved no end.

Not trusting myself to do the install I had the unit installed by an ICE specialist locally and am happy with the job they've done. However, the unit doesn't dim whe I turn the headlights on as it should. So the question is, is there a connection that's not made or doesn't the Impreza (it's an 03 WRX) not provide a signal for this facility? Chiark, does your unit dim OK??

Cheers,

Jase

Yes, my unit dims. The standard iso adaptor from autoleads does the business.

There is a menu config item to enable and disable dimming - have a look for that.

Cheers,
Nick.

Thanks Chiark.

I've seen the dim item on the menu and that's set. Only option is either there's a problem with the headunit or the install. Just wanted to check it should work before going back to the dealer.

Thanks Again!

Don't suppose you have the part number of the autoleads iso adapter?

Forgot to add will this work with an MY99 Type R

Autoleads adaptor is Part # PC2-44-4

If the dimmer doesn't work your installer may not have used an adaptor and been lazy with the connections.
