Decent ICE Shops in Basingstoke/Reading Area
#1
Wanna take a look at some of the newer headunits - Alpine specifically. Also need somewhere to install the headunit when I buy it. Anyone recommend anywhere as Ive only just moved to the area? Been to Sextons on Basingstoke Road but they didnt have that much there.
Thanks,
Simon.

Sextons have done a bit for me, and they were very good, have installed a number of Cliffords on friends car's and they seem to be good, no problems.
Another is John Klies which is just down the road, near the supermarket. They have installed quite a lot for me and did a supurb job, all the locals seem to reccommend them.
There is another place called Berkshire Car Sounds, can't remember the name of the road they are on, but if you find them, I wouldnt reccommend them as they have messed up my alarm a few times now...
Hope that helps!

Techne 01256 812990 - just past B&Q on the way to MacD's/Toys'R'Us (Winchester Road). Ask for Tim.
Done two scoobies for me including custom woofer boxes and a full dynomat. Nothing broken in 3 years. Very reasonable prices.

Headunit arrives tomorrow. Off on a long drive at weekend so want it fitted during the week. Tried Techne but they are full (sounded very clued up though).
So got it booked in at Sextons in Reading (Basingstoke Road). Would try it myself but its Alpine and apparently you have to run them direct from the battery.

I would have been happy to use them and will do next time, but I needed it installed this week and they couldnt fit me in (well they could but I work until 4pm).
The guy on the phone was very helpful, as soon as I mentioned it was alpine headunit he said you have to power direct from the battery and when I said it was going in an astra he asked if I wished to still use the central console display and steering column controls. I didnt as it costs £50 for the adapter and the Alpine comes with a wireless remote control anyway.
