Was in dealer and he had a Forester pocket so I bought it (damn sight cheaper than the normal pocket, but there you go).

Can I fit it? No chance. Anyone else tell me how this fits in to a MY01+? Do I need to drill additional holes in the metal brackets attached to the headiunit?

cheers

Steve

I fitted one to mine, had to repaint as my interior is matt black.
As far as fitting I drilled two holes in each side of the double din box. I also had to trim a few mm from the bottom edge of the Forester box. Mine is jdm and the console is differeent to UK, so you may not need to trim the box.

All thats required is to drill 2 additional holes in the din brackets (1 in each) as only 2 out of 4 mouting points line up as it isn't designed for the Impreza.

That would makse sense now, chaps, cheers. I (mistakenly) assumed that it would be interchangeable, as the open pocket fits perfectly in to the double DIN frame....

I had a slight problem doing mine. I set it a couple of millimeteres too far forward and couldn't get the centre console trim back on properly (bulged a bit). SO had to take it out, extend the drill holes and reposition it further back.

How do you suggest I go about getting the holes in the right place so that the box sits flush with the surround...?
