My roof mount screen arrived today, and I'm about to fit it.
The unit has 2 small lights on it, I assume they are to replace the interior light which will be getting removed?
If so, there is no separate wiring to power the lights on the unit.
The only lead coming from the unit consists of, the yellow and white AV leads and a +ve and -ve wires.
Should the +ve wire be fixed to a permanent live or a switched one to power the screen?
Any suggestions as to where I'd be better connecting the +ve to?
Any tips for getting the leads throught the headcloth?
For picture and sound, I take it the AV leads should simply go onto the output sockets on the Clarion control unit in my boot?
Cheers guys.

For +, anything will do providing it's either switched on acc or permanent live. The thing has a power switch, and you could conceivably want to entertain sprog (or other back seat passengers eh casanova? with the engine running, so I'd go for permanent +12. It goes without saying, but fuse the supply that you use down to a low value, as these things draw bugger all current when working properly.
Ground may be a bit picky as you may find you need a good ground to eliminate interferance. But there again, you may not need a perfect ground. Try it and see.
Source cables, yup, just route to your video source.
Have fun , and we want pics

Cheers Chiark.
For the permanent live, could I use the boot light, as this is what I used on my classic when I did the rear wiper conversion?
Is it simply a case of placing an in-line fuse into the +ve wire?
What rate fuse do you recommend?
(I'm an electrical novice if you haven't noticed! )
Cheer again for the advice.

I'm trying to work out in my head the light thing. If there is only one power input, then the lights must work off that too, as well as the unit. In which case the switch on the rear may only be for the lights, not the unit itself.
Or am I talking rubbish?

Update....
I can't suss out how the lights in the unit will work in conjunction with my interior switch etc, so I'm thinking about mounting the screen just behind the int. light.
As for the +ve wire, I've just had a look at the wires provided and there is an in-line fuse included.
The RCA leads that are provided are supposed to feed the video to the screen, but on my Clarion control unit, there appears to only be 1 video out jack, when I have a yellow and white leads requiring connected?
Any ideas?

Fitting was dead easy.....
I removed the interior light and fed the wires up behind the headcloth, which meant I had to remove the rear seats and the c post trim on the passenger side.
Once the wire was fed to the screen it is a straight plug in job and the screen then bolted into the existing holes in the roof where the light used to be.
The other end of the wire consists of RCA leads and a +ve and -ve wires.
The +ve was wired onto a permanent live. (boot light) and the -ve was earthed.
The RCA leads plugged straight into the Clarion control unit for my headunit screen.
Et voila!
