...have a Sti4 and wanted to put a stereo in BUT
there isn't a classic size hole for it, instead it looks like for two din (?) double decker. So I took those side supports out and affixed (see pic.)
It's not fitting in properly inside the console in the car
Please people can you put up your pics of the centre console with and without the face of the stereo?
Also any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Robert

I think youll find mate that if you mount the stereo without the facia surround(the thin black plastic bit that runs around the head unit)it will fit,
The unit will sit slightly back in your centre console,This is what i did with my blobeye when i had it..........and mounted a blaupunkt in dash multichanger underneath it in the same way!

That’s what I thought I'll do, but as always in my case nothing can be easy so as I have some older version of Pioneer the face plasticy thingy won’t come of.
With the other part of the hole, that’s where I have neatly done the lambda a knock link
I think if I modify those holes in those side support, I might get it a bit to the back and down and then it might fit.
Hey Darms, keep an eye on me. Well you can't miss me as I have a distinctive signs in the rear window

OK all done -> huuuuuray
It was more then just a millimetre job as the stereo had to be fitted exactly and me being a bit of perfectionist didn't help at the time either
But now one more happy bunny under the sun
and it sounds great as the speakers which where in the car already must have been upgraded and together with some sound "deadening" (how the hell you spell that) makes the job 100% top finish
Thank you all for the concern and help (well all you two )
