Question

I have just got my first scoob (a 53 WRX) and whilst extremely pleased with the car the stereo is total ****e. Does anyone know if my Pioneer DEH-7400MP will fit properly into the hole that the original double din unit was. I appreciate that I will need to buy a din converter of some sort. It's just that the pioneer unit appears to be too wide. Any suggestions????

If you can remove the hard frame from the front, yes. If you can't, then no. I seem to recall the 7400 being troublesome, have a search

Most units have a removable outer frame now for just this reason...

Well i have just had the Pioneer DEH-P9400MP installed but you need to remove the front plastic plate that goes around the front of the head unit for it to fit in snug.

Totally impressed with the head unit but i fear that the standard speakers are not going to hold the mosfet 50w x4 on the beast...

Thanks guys. Looks as if I will be going shopping. I knew the scoob was going to be expensive to run but I didn't think that it would be because nothing would fit in it! Never mind what a fantastic excuse to upgrade.
