Welcome to scoobynet
The Japanese FM broadcast system is based on a different frequency to the UK broadcast system which leaves you rather knackered.
You can buy a frequency expander, which is a device that you fit in line with the aerial and shifts the frequency by 20MHz or so required, but that means that you'll be having to work out what you are actually listening to by adding the shift onto the numbers displayed.
A better solution is to remove the unit, put it in the bin and buy one designed with UK reception, RDS, and all that guff in mind
Enjoy the car
Cheers,
Nick.

Welcome to scoobynet. That wow factor never fades.
I also junked the JDM fitted headunit, an Addzest thingy after a year. The radio becomes so tiresome to use. Sadly my new one doesn’t lower the Ariel when I change from radio to CD I used to like the old one doing that.
Whats the first mod then?
