Default Bass tube and 6x9's

I've read somewhere that putting in a bass box / tube with 6x9's can actually cause damage to the 6x9's. Does anyone know whether this is correct?

No damage at all

As stated above the 6*9's are a waste of time if you have decent sub sound - i.e. you'd need 2 decent powered subs for this - not say a poxy 10inch sub......................

In say a saloon scoob you also need to have the holes to let the bass come through - I've been through it all before in the last 5 yrs!!!
