Default interference

have recently noticed interference (high pitched clicking) on my sound system, it would appear to be alternator etc related as it speed up and slows down with engine revs, anyone experienced this and how did they get rid of it ?.
thanks for any replies

Best thing to do is check you have a sound earth, if that doesnt sort it you could quite cheaply for a few quid pick up a filter to go on the power line into the stereo which should block the AC noise.
