Question Single Din Unit

I'm thinking of putting my Alpine H/U and changer in my cat this weekend as the standard cd is skipping so much.
What can i put in underneath the single din unit to fill the space (01my)? - i'm sure i've seen somewhere someone fitted a cubbyhole or something

i don't want any gauges there either

cheers

try a search for "dash pocket" or something like that, there are 2 options i think.. one with a door and one with out.

You can get a black single din size pocket without a door for an 01 Impreza from your Subaru dealer. I paid £20 for mine.

That looks quite neat moto - i prefer the idea of the 1 with the door but not sure if the colours not the same as the silver on the dash - does yours just slot into place?

oo - copycat :-))

the standard stereo looks ok but it's so crappy - i've got a 2 year old Alpine setup to fit which has been in at least 6 other cars i've had - faithfull old thing
where's the best place to buy an ISO convertor lead?

My dash pocket slotted straight into place. I hear that the silver one needs some minor mods to get it to fit. It's a Forester part.
You can get an ISO connector from www.caraudiodirect.co.uk or from Halfords.

I've had one before and really liked it. Preferred it to my Pioneer unit. My local ICE dealer recommended Alpine and a lot of people on this forum say the same.
Being no expert I just went with the flow. My new unit (Alpine CDA9812RB) has good power output and all the features I wanted. Its also pretty straightforward to use and looks great.

Doesn't anyone read the sticky at the top of this forum entitled "Sticky: ICE Forum Purpose and FAQ - read before posting"?

If they did they would find this ....

well, i managed to fit my headunit okay, surprised myself actually...thanks to whoever it was who wrote the instructions on installing a 1 DIN unit into a post '00 impreza...it was easier than i thought and didnt take as long as i expected...if i can do it, believe me, anyone can...just got the hole beneath it to deal with now but ill be getting a pocket to fit in there until i can justify to myself the cost of a SECS unit...

cheers...
