How to remove stereo
My girlfriend has just bought a secondhand MY96 Mazda 323, which is fitted with a Clarion radio cassette player. Does anyone have any idea how to remove this? A mate rekons I'll have to pull half the dashboard to bits, but surely it's easier than that. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

you need special keys that are flatand have a hole in them that clicks onto the latch that is behind the facia, take it to a car audio shop, they will have it out in a sec and wont charge the earth (hopefully!)

Yeah my wifes clarion in her 323 came out with the keys you get from Halfords. There should be either two holes either side which needs a U shaped key or a slot about .5mm x 10mm which needs the knike shaped key.

You have to remove the two plastic covers first on either side of the stereo to access the holes, or unclip the facia surround.
I actually got some removal keys with my scoob inside the owners handbook

Thanks guy's for your idea's. I went to Halfords, but they were useless and said that they didn't keep any removing keys for Clarions. So in the end brute force won the day.
For future reference if anyone else has the same problem, I managed to remove the shelf pocket underneath the stereo by gently prising it away from the dash. This gave me access to the back of the stereo and several grazed knuckles later, I managed to push it out.
