Fitted a Single DIN in my Lamco pod
I just fitted a Pioneeer single DIN unit into my bugye, what a load of greif. I wasnt willing to chop up my facia. So I chopped the facia down on my stereo, It was given too me so i figured why not. Anyway The reason i Chopped the surround down was so i could fit it in the pod which housed my lamco gauges.
I then moved these down to the hole where the original unit was, and the fitted the legacy pocket under these.
I will post up picīs tomorow when its light enough for me to take a pic.
I was just wondering how many others have done this as they didnt fancy chopping up the facia on the dash.
I would like to know how to fit them in the regular place without chopping filling etc. pics would also be good.
Cheers Aston.

Does the outer surround of the stereo not come away from the main part thus making the stereo small enough to fit the opening??
I had this problem when fitting my Blaupunkt MP3 player into my 01 wrx.I simply removed the surround (Which sort of fits around the display part of the stereo if that makes sense?) and mounted it in the standard double din slot where my old stereo used to be a bit like this...
I wouldn't have thought you'd need to hack the dash to fit a stereo though
I secured the cd changer to the head unit by using insulating tape as the holes on the original Subaru audio cage didn't line up with all the holes on the stereo/changer.I still did use the cage as this secures everything in place to the dash etc. It's been in the car for around 12 months without any movement etc etc....
