Define cheap? But the Alpine CDE9821 is about £100 if you look around. Has a facia for a single DIN slot. I find Car Audio Direct good.

The Kenwood one looks a good deal - might go for that one...

 

Cant help with the unit mate but the facia in the ax if i remember right comes out with the std stereo(part of it) leaving the right size hole for the replacement head unit,the stereo will just sit slightly further bk in the dash(later model ax around L-reg)

 

Its a P reg AX - a new head unit will have a gap right around it, so it's gonna need a new surround.
