Hi

I have considered fitting these too :-) they will not fit into the holes on the rear shelf, actually i discovered that the holes in th rear shelf are different sizes, im not sure if they are speaker holes!

I have not done the mission yet, but I was considering an MDF cut out to bolt under these "holes" to mount the speakers on.

Also when installing these speakers do ensure that they do not get in the way of the boot lid mechanism that runs just behind these holes. (there are some metal bars there that move when you open/close the boot lid.

Good luck :-)

I believe the holes are around 5"x7", but i looked at doing this on a newage but there was to much much blocking the easy fitment of them. I do not know what it is like on a Bug eye but on the Blobeye there is the middle seatbeat coil there.

I do not think it is advisable to start cutting the shelf to fit 6x9's as the seatbelts are attached directly to this.

I had some Kenwood KFC-WDA69RC Base 6x9 and Amp combo's fitted to my car last year on the recommendation of SN.

Mine is a stealth install with the speaker hidden beneath a recarpeted reat shelf. I had an ICE installer do it for me, and he cut a fair bit out and dynamatted the rest,

What did you do with the seat belt and other stuff blocking the holes?

If you mean the ISOFix brackets, they took them off.

I was tempten to remount them somewhere else, but the car passed its first MOT like it as the proper seatbelts are unchanged

Ill do some pictures at the weekend.

as long as you understand 6/9s are a cheap way of getting base into the cabin and expect it to sound cheap go ahead

Or

you could fit some nice front components and a sub and have a very very nice sound

ps it is a bitch to make and not worth the effort imho

Rich, these are base speakers and sound as good as my mates sub box in his boot. But take up no space.

I have oversized focal components in the other two doors.

Ill never win a sound off, but I can 'feel' the low mid, which is waht I like.
