Installing an Alpine CDA-7876RB Head Unit into a Pug 206
Hi Folk's,
I am at my wits end!
I need some advice regarding the installation of an Alpine CDA-7876RB CD Head Unit into a Peugeot 206.
There seems to be the business of direct wiring of the power to the battery......
I know that this is a Subaru forum before some smart **se points it out to me.
Help, or where to get help will be most gratefully accepted
Regards
and thanks
Bob.

if your realy stuck put a direct feed from the battery live terminal to the stereo and put live and egnition wires from the stereo to this and make sure its earthed,it will be on all the time but if you take the face off every time you leave the car there will be no danger of a flat battery.hope this helps

what do you want to know mate? you can go to a fat live in the fuse box for it if you dont fancy drilling the bulkhead, the earth you need to pick up inside at a good earthing point. the later alpines used the same amp inside but all wired up into the iso, so this may be ok on your car as they are quite thick wires on 206 oem looms. if you struggle, a decent car audio shop should be able to install it for a maximum of 30 quid.

Surprised you think you need to go straight to the battery - I am not familiar with that particular alpine, but unless its got a big internal amp (in which case it will cook the dash), I would just use an autoleads adaptor onto the standard pug loom.
If you are convinced that going to the battery is the right solution, then assuming its like my old GTi was, then you will find that on the passenger side of the vehicle there is a plastic plate where the steering column would be on the continent. In the middle of this is a plastic hole with a dome shaped extrusion in the middle. On the engine bay side it will have a solid rubber grommet filling it. Take out the grommet and gentle smash out the dome shaped piece of plastic. Now puncture the grommet and feed your wire through it before inserting back into the hole.... no nasty drilling required.
I seem to remember my 206 had some weird battery clamp - I soldered the live on just below this. Remember to use an inline fuse right next to the battery to avoid potential fire risks.
The earth for the stereo will need to go the vehicle body, as the earth provided in the loom will not be appropriate for a device fed directly from the battery - in the first instance look for a screw in the dashboard that provides a good earth - if not you will have to put one in - I suggest behind the glovebox somewhere out of site.
I would leave the ignition live as per the pug loom - that way the stereo will go on and off with the ignition.
