setting up a new install
Just installed my amp and sub in the boot and need to set it up , I havent fitted anything like this before so could do with some advice please
first of all what position should the gain on the amp be in? and should i take out the base in the fronts as the sub is in the boot or is it a matter of having a play and seeing what sounds best.

You should try and set your low pass filter on your amp to 100hz or below and a good way to set your gain up is to put your head unit at 3 quarter volume, start with your gain down at minimum and slowly turn it up until it distorts the sub and then turn it down a fraction until it sounds nice and clear again.
If your fronts are running off an amp as well and it has a high pass filter then set that at about 80hz and above, you should find it will blend in nicely with your sub so you don't miss any sound out and as the fronts arent trying to reproduce bass they will go a lot louder without distorting.
