Question

Hi, I'm just about to change the standard Phillips head unit in my MY99 and have noticed that aside the multi-connector and the aerial, there is a single black wire that connects to a spade connector on the middle of the phillips, anyone know what this is for ? The Kenwood mask unit I'm going to put in doesn't have this.

Cheers

I would *GUESS* that it's just to ground the ariel to the head unit. If the tab is just on the back of the head unit and is not insulated from the head unit case, that'll be it.

As such, leave it disconnected.

Thanks chaps, you are both right, its just an earthing wire. I fitted the Kenwood and it is just dandy. A BIG improvement on the phillips thing...
