I ordered the new Kenwood KDC-MP6090R head-unit MP3 player at the weekend, I have just had confirmation I will recieve it tomorrow - WooHoo , I have bought this blind as I could find no reviews on it at all as it is is a brand new release.
I was tempted to get the AIWA one, but found the Kenwood cheaper!!
The only thing that put me off the AIWA was the fact you couldn't see the Folder names on the CD only folder 1, folder 2 etc, where as I am reliably informed the Kenwood will display 32 character folder names.
I will let you know what I think....It has got to be better than the standard fit Philips crap I have at the mo!

MP3 cd players are of big interest to me too, I have seen the kenwood on at empiredirect.co.uk at around £250, but I would prefer a higher spec head unit if one is available.
Any feedback would be useful.

I bought the Aiwa from letsbuyit.co.uk before they went under (only to return). £250 and I have no problems with it. I love it!
Minor niggles are the time it takes to scan through a 70 minute track for example (Fast Forward). Very slow indeed! Fitting the front panel can be fiddly.
Sounds brilliant though and the blue lights are v. cool.

Just received my Kenwood MP3 player today.
Having it fitted Friday with some Infinity Speakers and my Alpin 4x120W
Told the installers they should be able to get the 6" speakers in both kickpanel and shelf - is this correct ?

Kickpanels would be a real pain to do without moving a serious amount of connectors in the driver's side.
You can get 6" in the door though with only a little hassle, providing the units aren't too deep to catch on the window. If someone else is doing it, then it's their problem to make up any necessary spacers.
Rear won't be a problem at all.
Nick.

Its got their motorised fold away front, that basically flips over and the face goes inside leaving a plain surface, which you can also remove if you want.......like you would'nt in this country........!!
VV Cool - maybe fitting it tonite if I have time!!
I will let you all know what its like to install and use.
