What Sat Nav System
#3
Kenwood do a lovely DVD based sat nav system (about £3k I think) which is different to the rest because it uses a touch screen for input (as fitted to the X-Type Jags). Makes navigation much easier but it's up to you whether you think it worth the premium...

I've had a Panasonic CN-DV2000 installed in my car for about 9 months now and it's simply awesome.
Together with this I have a 7" widescreen monitor mounted on the centre lid, this can easily be removed for security purposes.
Apart from having most of europe on the one DVD disc, the unit can also play DVD movies
You can with most sat-nav units have the screen mounted like I have or fitted into the DIN slot.
Cost wise my unit and screen now costs around £1400.
Any more details on this just drop us a email.
Cheers,
Rob.

pioneer systems are absolute crap. Inside wiord from dealers is the dvd one is no better.
Kenwoods system is supposed to be the muts nuts.
I have been independently recommended the vdo daytona system, but the alpine is said to work very well indeed.

I had the VDO system with LCD screen (badged for BMW) in my old 540 - it was OK but a bit slow to calculate a route, didn't allow way points, didn't allow destination input by post code and the interface was a but awkward to use on the move.
On the other hand, the Kenwood (as fitted to the X-Type Jag) is touch screen and so very simple to use and allows postcode destination input and way points.
£1500 plays £3000 though
