Default bluetooth sat nav/usb/av

confusing title i know, but does anyone have any experience with sat nav on phones and transferring the info to a screen?

i am thinking about getting tom tom on a card for my phone. i could then presumably transfer the graphics and sound from the phone via bluetooth to a bluetooh dongle plugged into a usb port which connects via av leads to the back of my dvd player (via the av or aux function). sounds a little complicated, but i just wondered if anyone else had done this. would make the directions a lot easier to read and would enable me to have my sat nav in both of my cars

i know the usb/av connector is available and i could fit this into one of the switch blanks round the handbrake (as seen on another snetter's pc install - very inspiring!)

comments/alternative much simpler solutions would be most welcome

I would presume that the Tom Tom software uses the phone as it's Gps and Cpu, so i doubt it would work and you would get the same result as putting an xbox game into a dvd player

Would buying a tom tom 300 or similar not be an easier option?

- i wondered whether the phone could output the visual and audio side of things to the screen on the dvd player
